Stand-Up for Us (Online)

This class is for women, LGBTQIA+, non-binary, and trans* performers who want to explore, expand, or polish material. This class focuses on taking our lived experiences and generating comedic material for the stage. No previous performance experience is required.

In this class, we explore:
- basic joke structure
- tackling tough topics to comedic effect
- finding the relatability in our shared experiences
- developing our comedic point of view
- building a solid stage presence
- generating a "tight five" minutes

This class culminates in a final performance immediately after the last class.

No experience necessary! (Students must be 18 or older to register) This is an online class and students will need a computer or mobile device (smartphone or tablet) with an internet connection. Classes are taught using the web software Zoom (it is a free app to download). Before your first class, you will receive an email with your Zoom login information and additional instructions.
