For Immediate Release

Laugh Loud Theater Closing After 17 Years

Laugh Out Loud Theater, the northwest suburbs’ premier improv comedy venue and training center, will close its doors at the Streets of Woodfield in Schaumburg in April. Throughout its 17-year history, Laugh Out Loud has made thousands of people laugh, trained hundreds of comedy students, and hosted events ranging from corporate holiday parties to fundraisers to drag brunches. The final performances will be on April 13th, 2024.

Laugh Out Loud Theater has been delighting audiences since 2007 with completely unscripted shows, with performers creating games, scenes, and songs on the spot from audience suggestions. The theater also boasts a full bar with an impressive craft beer selection. Thursday evening shows spotlight the Laugh Out Loud League teams, and every Friday and Saturday night the Main Stage Cast performs early family friendly shows while later shows cater to a more adult crowd. Its Sunday night open mic nights have long been a local staple for stand-up comedians to hone their acts.

The theater is currently running their Valentine’s show, Love Me Tinder, and will begin performances of its final show, The Last Laugh, on March 8th and will feature performances of crowd favorites and cast alumni as it counts down to an April 12th and 13th extravaganza.

Once the theater officially closes, Laugh Out Loud will pivot to being an itinerant theater, continuing to do corporate entertainment and training and mounting short runs of shows in other theater spaces. Laugh Out Loud will focus on what we do best – providing top-notch entertainment, workshops, and classes.
